Alfa Busz Ltd was established in 2002 as the continuation of the bus manufacturing tradition in the town of Székesfehérvár. Until the second half of 2002 thousands of buses were being produced annually under the Ikarus brand in the present plant of Alfa Busz. We have started our activities by establishing a strategic partnership with Volvo Bus Corporation (VBC). This opened a new chapter in the history of the Hungarian bus industry.

It's widely a known fact that VBC is one of the global leaders in bus manufacturing. Its portfolio includes interurban, suburban and city buses. Volvo buses are well known all over the world for their high quality, durability and improved environmental friendliness. In order to become Volvo's strategic partner in manufacturing, Alfa Busz had to meet VBC's high technical and quality standards. To achieve this, Alfa Busz needed a group of experts with extensive knowledge and experience in bus industry. These professionals were already available, since the chief constructor, the designers as well as the head of manufacturing process had more than 10 years of experience in this field.

The development of particular bus types is based on the so-called 'family principle'. This enables us to produce groups of vehicles representing different versions of one type, which complement each other. Within these groups we can also manufacture versions, which meet all the special requirements of our customers. These buses are suitable for urban, suburban and intercity passenger transport.

The bodies of the buses produced by Alfa Busz are made of 100% stainless steel, and covered with light aluminium and plastic materials. The advantage of this solution is not only high corrosion protection, but also the possibility of quick repair in case of side coating damage. Thanks to large volume production, high quality and durability, with our buses we can satisfy the highest needs of not only the Hungarian but also our foreign customers.

Alfa Busz puts a strong emphasis on its appearance in export markets. Besides Hungary, the company represents itself as tenderer in 16 European countries and widens Volvo presence in Middle- and in Eastern Europe through its buses.

In order to meet new challenges and to increase efficiency, in 2008 the owners have decided to transform Alfa Busz Ltd. On the 1st of October 3 separate companies were established: Alfa Busz Kereskedelmi Ltd. (Sales), Alfa Busz 2002 Járműgyártó Ltd. (Manufacturing) and Alfa Busz 2008 Vevőszolgálati Ltd. (After Sales) Based on this change, we are able to provide our customers with a higher level service quality, which is also proved by the ISO 9001 certification.
